Hey all, been out of the hobby for a bit. Went out with a new Equinox 900 and scored a merc and '38 wheat in a pounded sports field. Forgot how fun this hobby is. Heading back to the field with the 15"coil tomorrow. Good luck all!
Got out for half a day hunting around an old homesite that had a cellar and well. I started hunting around the rocks that supported the home. I got a good signal and dug a token with in the first 10 minutes. About a hour later after several bullets and a few mason jar tops. I stumbled across...
Haha! Got you!!! Happy birthday to me! I made this cake for my party. (Sorry that it's upside down) It a hole with dirt (cookie crumbs), a worm and a *gold* coin! I place a few candy rocks, a fake lady bug or two, stuck in a mini shovel and vwola... a metal detecting cake!
I got this coin book...
Here is what I have tried or have seen others I know to work.
coin rolling for qtrs and 50 cent pieces. observation: labor intensive for very few silver coins.
being friendly with tellers to get their silver coins, star notes and other valuable bills. (I have used this successfully)

A couple of weeks ago I started a thread about possibly taking a detecting road trip and tried to get other TNET members involved. Unfortunately, though not unexpectedly, treasure hunters being treasure hunters, not many ideas or invites were offered. That's ok though because it turned out to be...
We had a short hunt the other day but found our 1st 1927 wheat penny using a Teknetics Gamma 6000 in Orangeburg County, SC

Went to Philly to get my marriage license with my fiancรฉ. The main portion of her parents' home was built around 1719. I started metal detecting in November of last year and have learned on my Garrett AT Pro out here in California. I have never had a day like I had in Philly.
List below (with...
Returned to the 1870 tree farm house. Used my smaller coil today and found my first Barber dime! It was absolutely beautiful! Dug a few more wheats. Finished the day walking my creek site for Indiana artifacts. It has been challenging because the fields are no till. I found a reworked point...
Moved to a new site for today, 1870's tree farm house. Was pleased to find some period items along with other targets. Forbes Silver plated spoon, 1902 Indian, Several wheats (three 1920's pocket spill), ax head, pocket knife, 1800's Victorian Horse Bridle Rosette (I think there is a picture...
So I was digging a couple of 1 foot holes in the garden to plant some hops for home brewing and I noticed a coin in one of the holes. I picked it up and saw it was a penny and assumed it was a stinkin' lincoln because this house was built in the 70's. I cleaned it off anyways and to my surprise...
Hello! I found this unusual wheat penny while I was CRH a while back. It looks crazy, the dye looks (how do I put this?) messed up and the coin seems to be faded some. I have a couple of pics of the penny. Sorry if these pics are bad!
I hunted my aunt's and uncle's old farm house this weekend. Not much was found except for junk. I did manage to find two harmonica reeds however. A U.M.C. CO. No. 10 shot gun shell was found also. Only wheat was a 1954 D, and 40 cents total. Missed silver by one year on the quarter:sadsmiley...
First time posting in today's finds!
Started off the morning with a short hike through my woods to an old house foundation I found 2 days ago, found some weird, flower shaped sprinkler thing on the surface.
Decided to head back to my house to search my yard as I wasn't having much luck, and...
Just picked up 30$ in CWR in cents and got all ready to start, dumped the fist roll and the first 4 on top were Indian heads! Along with 1 wheat struggling about 10 cents behind.
I definitely ready to look through the rest of these. I've got my meal and I'm ready to go. Final results will be...
I couldn't believe it. I literally just made a bet with my GF the night before that I could fill up 3 whitman coin books, lincoln cents 1909 - 2013, by CRH only in the period of one year (I know, very unlikely).
So I stop at a few banks on my way home from her place. 2nd bank has $18 CWR. all...
I'm not really sure what type of error this is. There seems to be a shelf on the one 5 that's there. I would say greased die but I see absolutely no trace of the other number, and all the other strikes are real strong. Any ideas???
I'm going to put this up on ebay, I'm thinking of starting...
Detected for a full day which involved digging through lots of gravel.
Most of the coppers were in awful condition-corrosion and oxidation.
Ended the day with a walker.

I have a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 Which can only get a consistent coin signal down to 6". In a month I have found $10 or more in clad, 7 wheats, 1 barber dime and a buffalo. The Barber dime, 1 wheat and the buffalo were in the same hole. A weird thing is I have found two surface wheats and one...
I have only been at this site for three days and have found a 1904 dime, a 1919 nickel,a 1915 D penny, a 1913 penny, a 1956 D penny, and a 1959 penny. Here is a link to pics of the 1904 Dime, 1919 nickel., and 1915D penny...
NOTE: After taking photos of my 1915D wheat cent I lost it in my house, I know it will probably turn up sometime though.
Just a day ago I found my first wheat penny, buffalo nickel, and barber dime (my fist silver coin), all in the same hole. The date of the wheat was 1915 D the date of the...
I finally have had time to post coins from the past month.
Cleaning took forever...
Dates of the coins are in the pictures.
Four of the seated dimes were found in one park.
Enjoy
Me: "Have you come across anything unusual?" Teller: "Well... I do have these"
I've read on here time and time again, the importance of befriending the tellers. A little bit of patience and joking around really goes a long way. This is an incredible find... not nearly as cool as some of y'all...
Always Practice Safe Detecting, You Never Know What You'll Find
Went out today with my buddies, Hi-Ho-Silver and the Tone Ranger.
We had a great time despite the near 100 degree weather.
Found several good coins throughout the day.
The dig included several interesting stories. A previous...
Epic Wheat/ King George score! PICS
I finally found my first dream penny box! When I opened the box I immediately saw 2 enders ( King George VI and Wheat). Ten rolls had some kind of typing on them (on picture). Also I got 10 full rolls of USA pennies :laughing7:. The star of that box was an...
