This was found buried in a field in Washington County Pennsylvania about 3 inches or so down. Very rusted. Looks like iron maybe. What do you guys think it is? Thank you in advance!
Hello, first post! sought out a forum like this as i really am unsure what to search for to attempt at identifying what this is - found near bardsea in cumbria thinking it appeared fossil- esque at first - it’s round the whole pebble these very uniformed marking so was unsure wether it was a...

Hey Everyone,
Last fall, I was prospecting in Clear Creek Canyon along US 6 And found something interesting.
I was working an old dried up gravel bench where the river used to flow, and several feet down behind a large boulder, I spotted this bizarre "notched" rock in the hole.
I cannot...
Hey everyone,
I found this coin in Western Europe.
It is made out of copper and measures about 23mm in diameter (0.9 inches).
Only one bit of detail is visible on one side of the coin.
Here's a close-up of the only bit of detail.
It's a long shot but I know there's an ID somewhere out...
I found this today and have no idea what it might be. It looks to be brass, 4.25" OD 2" ID and 0.25" thick. Front and back are identical. Maybe a mold of some sort? The site where I found it was a settlement back as far as the 1840's and I've found a lot of logging equipment, 1800's...
I have a ring I bought a year or 2 ago. I paid about $800 for it and it’s real. Gold with diamonds. (See pictures)
Here’s the problem, the inside of the ring says 4k… Not 14k, 4K! I can’t seem to find out what the heck the deal is because from what I have read they don’t normally mark jewelry...
Hello,
I found this coin in Western Europe.
It is around 32mm (1.26in) in diameter and is made of bronze or copper.
I have looked through coins from all over the European continent and can't seem to find a match.
It probably dates to the mid-late 1800s if I had to guess based on other finds in...
Hi All, cleaning up the deschutes river you find alot of trash but you also find alot of WWI/WWII and Logging Relics. Today we found this cute little white jar. We thought it might be an old pill container from pharmacy. Can anyone identify? The Substrate is white glass. Thank you!
Just found this in an Indiana yard with some history. It rang up 61-62 on my Garrett Ace 400. Not sure what it is but I figure jewelry off some kind, what with the hinge and all. Any thoughts?
Recently I was reorganizing my collection and I found a bunch of unidentified pieces I had forgotten about and just stored away. Iv'e picked out my 4 favorites if anyone could help me figure out what any of them are It'd be greatly appreciated!
The largest piece is the one I'm most curious...
I found this item in Luxembourg (Western Europe) in an area with stuff from the 1600s-modern times.
The top part of bronze or some sort of copper alloy with the bottom part being iron and is very heavy for its size.
I have no clue as to what it might be so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks!
I found this item 8 inches deep in a metal detecting hole in a park in Luxembourg.
I find tons of Devil's toenail fossils (Gryphaea) in the area which are an extinct oyster species but I've never found anything different.
Like I said I'm more of a metal detecting guy and know next to nothing...
Good Morning everyone!
Recently, I was metal detecting in a local woods and discovered this interesting Hexagonal bullet. That woods had alot of history judging by the relics I have uncovered there. In that aria I have found a topographical engineer button, Numerous belt buckles, coins, and...
I found both of these items on separate occasions in the same general area. When I found the first one I didn't think much of it but after finding the second I got curious.
Found in Luxembourg in an area that has produced stuff from the 1600s up to modern times.
Made of brass or copper except...
I found this item in a field in Luxembourg where I have found stuff from the 1600s - modern times.
It appears to be made of copper.
The bottom makes it look as if it had broken off of something else but I'm not 100%
Any info is appreciated as I have no clue.
Thanks!
Found this item in the woods of Luxembourg.
The site has produced a couple of Roman coins but mostly 1700s/1800s/1900s stuff.
Appears to be brass as it has a nice green patina.
My first thought was a Roman brooch but I have realized that is probably wishful thinking.
Any info is appreciated...
I found this item in Luxembourg (Western Europe.)
It is made of either copper with the knob being made out of iron.
I have found other items dating back to the 1600s in the area as well as everything up to modern times.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You.
OK, I don't even know where to look to figure this one out.
The Pins between the metal look to be of Brass or Copper.

Found Orange tinted glass pieces and a rock that looks chiseled.
There is a 75' knoll behind my house that I've been wanting to get into for a while. Now that I have the Simplex+ setup the way that works for me, I decided to give it a whirl on the knoll (mound) and these pieces are what I...
I found approximately 15 of these iron artifacts at a colonial house site that goes back to the early 1700s. Not sure exactly how old they are, or what they are... They all are about 2.5" tall, .5 inch thick, with a small notch at the bottom. Does anyone have any insight? Thank you in advance!
Happy holidays everybody! Last Saturday I went metal detecting at a house site out in the middle of a field. The house is shown on 1873 and 1883 maps of the area. The house was shown on a 1933 aerial map too. I was metal detecting for about 2 hours and came home with some fascinating finds...
All I did was wash them so far. Just wondering what they are && I don't have a magnet or anything else with me to test them. The one on top has what looks like metal Bob's on the top. And green inside. And the middle one had a thin crust and is heavy. And the bottom is blue/green inside. Thanks...
So unless it worked the first 4 times I tried, this is my first post on here. I’m not good with geology, but I’ve found a lot of Native American artifacts. These two were found in close proximity. You may not can tell, but the rock in the first four pics has been flaked (given the high impact...
??? HELP ID THIS RELIC FIND ???
Was out today relic hunting a farm field in Virginia. Colonial, revolutionary war, and civil war artifacts/relics are possible in this area.
You know the story, I was about to pack it in and reluctantly come home empty (save a few modern bullets and big iron)...
I was detecting an old 1870s farm site and found this strange looking tool. Not sure what it could have been used for. It looks like it has some paint on the end of it. It had a slight spoon shape in one side and is formed to a slight peak on the back. I have found all sorts of iron in the...
Found this at the low tide line yesterday on beach in St. Augustine area.
Is it old because of the shells stuck on it? Generally how long does something need to be in the water for this to happen?
And, if old, why hasn't it corroded away (if it were iron)?
I scraped and edge to show the metal...
I was out metal detecting and i definitely wasn't expecting to find this. It appears to be some sort of hunting trap. I have no idea how it would trap an animal though. It is secured to a stake by a chain that goes super deep into the ground. I am having a very hard time digging it up. Below are...
I found this thing on my way home from work. I really don't know if it's a genuine arrowhead or if it's just a stone? What do you guys think?
I found this in sealand, Denmark.
The widest part is 2 cm, and the longest part is about 4 cm.
The two first pictures are taken from the front and the...
Hey guys! Recently I was metal detecting near an old mill location. I discovered my first horseshoe... And this. I am assuming this is a button, can anyone help with the age? The material is copper.

Hi! I found this in San Francisco. I was curious what it is and if it is work anything. It is about 4" x 4" and the material feels like ceramic.
Thank you in advance for the help!
I recently was metal detecting the banks of a creek near Deadwood SD, an area known for gold, when my detector found four rocks that all registered as metal they read out as 40 to 45 on the target scale and a 0 on the ground phase. The rocks are silverish in color and metallic kinda like schist...
petrified wood find I'm pretty sure
Found this Saturday, put down the ATPRO and walked the creek for awhile.
Found this: heavy as heck and dense. Clean breaks on both ends. Hard as heck. Grainy like wood.
Would do u guys think?
