I joined this forum a few weeks ago, awesome resource! I was out on a friends land detecting on an old logging railroad grade and picked some spikes. I usually wire wheel the crud away on interesting spikes, but I had a bent one and partial one that I thought I would try canning vinegar...
i found this object underground at a house built by the owner of Ben's Bread in the early 1900's. the house was used for the 1st class in WW11 (1939-1945) which would be majors and stuff like that. when i found it there was at least half a inch of rust on it, after cleaning the rust of you can...
I got this quarter in a hand full of change. It looks rusted, but I was under the impression that coins don't rust.

We found this piece in a corn field this year while metal detecting. The corn field has been in use for over 200 years for crops. The information related to the piece is. Width is 5 inches outside to outside. Depth is 2 1/4 inches. Weight is 3 lbs. 3 ozs. Markings n/a. Location in corn field...
