Hello, this is my first time posting. I rescued a few items from the Goodwill outlet store yesterday, including these two pieces of pottery. Based on google lens and some eBay searching, the more oblong of the 2 seems to be a terracotta or clay oil lamp from the Roman Empire (maybe 100-400 AD?)...
this vessel rim is interesting for the salvage work performed on it, as well as the nine talley marks on the rim top. made of steatite this rim part is petty hefty.
I thought initially it could be part of a gorget.
I found this horse statue, and am having a hard time figuring if it’s a tang dynasty porcelain or not, someone with some knowledge please help! I’d really appreciate it.
So a new field tonight, on the old maps there is a “station” noted… but no train tracks so we wondered if I could be military... clearly something was happening there as lots of targets…. And old pottery on the surface.
Found this in NW Florida, not far from where I recently picked up an arrowhead. Just wondering if you guys think it could be a pottery shard? Looks like it might even be burnt on one end. Thanks in advance!
I have a tendency, whenever in a Goodwill store, to walk out with just about anything I see that has crazing. And apparently, I don't have to even know what it is. I'm a sucker for old stuff.
Like with this piece of pottery here. Not only don't I know whether its ceramic or something else, or...
Hello,
I recently identified a site in Central Brazil with hundreds (more probably thousands) of ceramic shards of the most varied pottery and manufacturing styles. Below (attached) are some photos (macro - 23 x 23 square cm) and light microscope details (micro - some few square mm) with temper...
I got this blue ceramic vase for $7 at a second-hand shop today. It's made with a brown clay and is somewhat rustic in its construction. Lots of pits in the glaze, and the base is unglazed. I can't tell if it was coiled or turned on a wheel. No makers mark. I suspect it's old, but I'm not sure...
Hey everyone! I’ve been digging an overhang on my property in wv, I was hoping someone could help me identify some of the points as well as give their best time period estimate.
Thanks everyone, have a great Christmas!

Goodday. This is my first post on this forum. Please help identify the maker of this art nouveau vase. I think it is from the 1920's.
Kind regards.

I'm helping my mother clear out some of her collectibles and I am looking for anyone who may have information about the value of this W.T. Copeland & Sons pitcher. From the research I've done, it was made in London somewhere around 1860-1890.
Hello, does anyone recognize the markings on these pottery ?
The inner layer of the pottery appears to be a sandstone color clay and the outer is red clay, with black geo shapes.
I found these pieces in rio rancho new mexico. very close to home. My daughters history teacher thinks it may be...
Can anyone tell me what native tribe these pieces of pottery may come from? and perhaps how old it may be?
It appears the inside is a grey or sandstone color clay and the outer is red clay. I found these in rio rancho new mexico
The store was a couple miles from Lewes, Delaware. They are in a shadowbox sort-of frame. Think there's any chance these are legitimate? How would this family have gathered them?
This appears to be an older face jug with the only identification mark is an "L" under the left ear. Any leads would be very much appreciated....thanks.
Hey T"netters- any ideas as to age? 1809 half cent (not toasted for sure!) plus a large cent (no pic, Mick dug), Pottery is especially interesting to me. And this must be a privy, correct?? 2nd pic has the 5 ft probe buried to the hilt (cleared the leaves around the depressed approx 3-4 ft...
Hey guys and gals- found what we believe to be home site in a wooded area of Loudoun county, VA... the large is an 1819 and the half is toast and can'tmake out the front really at all. Any ideas on age of the very cool and highly variable pottery frags and bricks. And we found 2 (maybe three)...

Hello. This is my first post to this forum. Nice to meet you all.
I found a completely intact Lenape pottery vessel. I scouted an undeveloped wooded lot nearby and determined where the brook flowed before it was redirected to accomodate the housing development. After finding a dipped path that...

I have this (salt-gazed?) piece of studio pottery and I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the mark. I've been on a few studio pottery mark databases but can't seem to find this one. Many thanks.
Hi all,
I have this interesting bowl/dish that looks like it might be some kind of metropolitan slipware. It is unmarked and my research brings up 1970s studio pottery as a possible match. From the design I'd say it looks quite English, but it's hard to find any similar that aren't redware...
I purchased this pitcher recently. It has an applied handle and looks like it could be medieval redware as it has some similar characteristics (such as the handle shape, the medium used - earthenware?). Could anyone shed any light on this item based on the images? Thanks!
I was walking my dog today when I found this partially sticking out of the ground. I dug around a little and exposed more of it. It looks like some type of ceramic dish, but I have no idea what it really is. I would like to know more about it. The land I live on was used to travel from the...
Hello all. Glad to be here. I recently picked this early piece up. Looks to be a cruet caddy, and likely 18th century Italian creamware. The title has a typo, 18th not 17th century. The marking on base is very much like the Capo di Monte crown or the predecessor which I forget the name of. But...
Hoping someone can help me ID this older pitcher. I am guessing it is made of clay but not sure. It has the number 232 on bottom. Item is about 8 inches or so tall. Thanks for any help.
I've had this for a couple of years now; I found it at a estate sale of a lady who was downsizing to be able to move into a condo because the house was too big after the death of her husband. Her husband had been a history professor who made numerous trips to Mexico & S. America for work & for...
Over the years I've dug up many different fragments of dishes and pottery from a long-gone farmhouse. I've identified much of it as Blue Willow dishware, a 1915 Limoges calendar plate and purple transferware by Wooliscroft (Eon pattern), but there are still many fragments that I have not been...
