I came across this interesting plate at a garage sale. It has V & B M on the back of it, numbering and made in Germany. Would anyone know anything about this?
Found yesterday in Civil War era site in KS.
The cylinder appears to be Copper or brass, about the size of a small tea plate. About 1 lb or so. Heavier and more rigid than you’d think. The handle reminds me of a pipe end and you can see the hole that goes through. Also metal. Some care...
So glad I found this forum! I am usually on a forum about fossils and it is extremely helpful and educational so hopefully the same is true here and I can solve this mystery. I aquired this plate about 10 yrs ago labeled unmarked Longwy, I am not completely convinced, but close. It's 10" and...

December 2017 - It was 8am when I drove to the recycling center to drop off some aluminum scrap. After unloading I asked to walk around maybe to find a valuable scrap item and I happen to find this. I was told it was made of complete brass and they were going to place it in a presser in an hour...

Over the years I've dug up many different fragments of dishes and pottery from a long-gone farmhouse. I've identified much of it as Blue Willow dishware, a 1915 Limoges calendar plate and purple transferware by Wooliscroft (Eon pattern), but there are still many fragments that I have not been...
I recently found this "plate",Etc.,I do not know what this may have been used for IF it is actually from 1862...The back has a date stamp 1862 and the font is consistent with a date you would see on a rifle, sword and most ordinace related item's.

Hi all! Found this on the side of the road (weird, right?). It's some sort of metal, it seems, and it has a picture of two people in some sort of native/indigenous garb holding a pole with grapes hanging from it. On the back is a little blue patch that says some things in Hebrew and the...

I found this yesterday at a site of an old ski lodge up in the mountains. It appears to be a nameplate from something, I just don't know what it is from.
It is made out of cast iron with a threaded stud on the back and a brass name "WEED" attached to the front of the cast iron oval. Doing a...
Hello everyone.
I have this steel plate engraving of a man named Thomas H. Wells.
It was engraved by Henry Taylor Jr. & Co. in Chicago.
It measures 7.5" x 5.5"
Anybody have any idea what this is worth or where I could find out?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
Pictures in next post.
