Has anyone succesfully added a volume control for the MXT E-Tracker's speaker? If so, how?
Recently I've been enjoying the therapeutic simplicity of my older bfo and tr type machines for shallow targets in the parks carrying only a pinpointer and probe for recovery. Volume control is necessary...
This is only the second time I've found a small park that has never been scoured by people with metal detectors.
I covered just under 25% of it. Will go back again ASAP!
Hi, I'm new to metal detecting and am wondering if a 1909 park is a good place to find silver and gold and jewelry. It's not a huge park but a good size, it get a good amount of traffic. I saw a guy metal detecting there once. Also, what are the best places to look? Under trees? Picnic areas...
I found 2 sterling silver rings at one tot lot!!! These are my first ever real rings! This one I thought was fake because of the cheap jewel, but then I cleaned it and saw that it had a hard to see 925 on it. I hope to find better quality silver and find my first gold soon. :)
was hunting the volley ball park early this morning just after sunrise. Then did my usual walk around all the picnic tables and spotted some sunglasses on one of the tables. I was not really excited since it is common to find cheap sunglasses at the park on Monday morning. Park goers take off...
Today I detected the park with only my pinpointer.

Skipping #4 which was my last hunt almost 3 weeks ago at the old coal mine again, but with my son. It was more adventure than metal detecting, but interesting things were found when we were not playing Minecraft.
With the weather changing to sub-zero the last few weeks digging has crawled to a...
So yeah, found what I believe to be a Nazi Party gold pin yesterday at the park. Gorgeous pin. But I flipped it over to discover it was engraved "SS" with the date of 12-31-33. I know 1933 was a big year for the Nazis. It's a little chilling to think this pin could be celebrating the killing of...
I wrote an Op-Ed article about the time I found a human hand with my metal detector and the LA Times published it! I know it's not the most exciting find, but I thought you all might enjoy.

I've been enjoying the MD hobby now for about 2 months and the more I get out there, the more comfortable I get with the AT Pro. I'm finally at a point where I can hear a signal and pretty accurately guesstimate what it's going to be when I pop it out of the dirt.
This is how it's been going...
hey everyone! brand new to this metal detecting stuff. I have a bounty hunter 2200 and was wondering if anyone owns one and has some tips. any advice is appreciated. I took it to my local park this morning for about 20 minutes and found a pull tab, beer bottle cap, and a few gum foils...
Hello, I live in Tempe Arizona near Papago park and I want to metal detect in locations nearby. Unfortunately, since the area is pretty populated the only empty land is in State Parks. I don't know if I can detect on that land and I have called and emailed the parks to see if I can or if there's...
I dug this shell up at a local park today, nothing special. I would like to know a date if possible. Thanks!:-X It's hard to read but it says Western Super-X No. 12 Made in USA

I first got a nickel signal on the XP Deus at the park. After digging a piece of old tin, I ran the coil over the hole one more time before covering it and that time I got a sweet, silky tone with a VDI of 91 (at 12KHz)! I dug maybe one more inch and found this 1900 Barber dime in great shape...
