Thanks for looking at this. Found this old padlock busted and heavily corroded while digging in the yard last Summer. Just cleaned it up. I can find no maker's mark.
Other finds in the yard are junk, clay pipe fragments, and chunks of lead, oh! and a live .45 round.

I dug this over the holidays in central Florida, it closely resembles the type in the drawing of fraim locks (Which I obtained here at TN thanks!), but this brass padlock has a crucible device within a circle in the quadrants....any help appreciated....b
I found this today. At first I thought it was just a piece of scrap iron til I washed it and saw the key hole.
From what it looks like the key was not flat but more zig-zag when looking at the end.
The shank hole on the cleaner end seems to be more flat not round like most locks.
