only have two at my disposal but seems to contain fusion crust Is magnetic 1st smaller specimen weighs 125g the bigger specimen is 870g found in the southern Californian desert

Found this out fishing the other day in North GA. My friend who is a geology major thought it was volcanic glass and pumice, but I've read that volcanic glass isn't found in GA. Any help with the ID is greatly appreciated!

I found this out fishing the other day and sent a picture to my friend who studies geology. She thought it was volcanic glass and pumice, but everything I've read suggests that there is really no volcanic glass to be found in north GA. Could this be impact glass?
