Hey everyone,
Hoping ya'll can help me understand the difference between a meteorite and natural iron. I doubt that I'm lucky enough to have found an actual meteorite but how does one tell without being able to cut it in half to look at the internal structure?

Hello everyone, just joined and like the site already. I need some help identifying a rock I have. It is not magnetic, streak test was red at first, now shows grey when exposed, it is EXTREMELY HEAVY, appears to have a fusion crust, maybe 1mm thick, and when ground down appears to be almost...

Hello, I'm new in this forum, but I hope you don't mind helping us. My husband and I have these 6 rocks we found in our backyard a while ago, and we wonder if they're indeed ferrous meteorites. :icon_scratch: When we read descriptions and see pictures, they seem to match a meteorite description...
