I noticed there are a lot of shafts and handles made of carbon fiber but not one scoop made of carbon fiber. Any one have any thoughts on this or an equivalent light weight, rust proof scoop I can use for beach and water?
I noticed there are a lot of shafts and handles made of carbon fiber but not one scoop made of carbon fiber. Any one have any thoughts on this or an equivalent light weight, rust proof scoop I can use for the beach in and out of water that is strong as the stainless steel but not nearly as heavy?
I found both of these items on separate occasions in the same general area. When I found the first one I didn't think much of it but after finding the second I got curious.

Found this at a possible pre-20th century rural home site along with a bunch of square nails but not much else. It pings at various points between 01 and 35 on a 01-99 scale. It looks like a handle of some sort and the nub on the tongue appears to be part of it. Any ideas?
Looking for suggestions on a light weight collapsible beach scoop handle (I am assuming fiberglass or equivalent) for travel. Also, I have two Coob scoops made of metal but was wondering if anyone knows of a good beach scoop that is lighter and just as durable as the typical metal ones?

Antique store find - brass about 6 inches in length - hammer or handle with two rounded prongs. Rings when hit but doubt it's a tuning fork. Not sure if it is antique or tooled to appear old. Looking for a purpose and identification.

Just wondering if anyone knows this makers mark. I believe it says "Japan". Has a pat pending #, but I cannot find anything about it. Also, the age of this piece. It seems to be from the 40s, but I could be mistaken.
Thanks!
