This weekend I found one of my bucket list items: a Spanish silver coin. It is a 2 Real coin with a hole punched through it. Still in decent enough shape to identify, even though much is rubbed off, including the date. I was able to make out "Ferdin VII" which stands for Ferdinand the 7th who...
I came to this site after finding a treasure that I was trying to find information on. I found this in southern Arkansas on the surface just lying there. I believe it is from a sunken vessel because it was found on the edge of a water source. Any information on this would be appreciated. I am in...
Found a sterling German spoon at the thrift store.
Black toonie and two silver coins from my job at the Credit Union as well as Some old bills. (*bills not shown, five 1950s bills)
Silver dime from the Coinstar.
This Mexican spoon is from awhile back. Can anybody confirm its sterling? Looks...
Hi,
I came to this site cause it seems like you guys really know what you are talking about!
I was going through some old coins and I found this 1938 nickel. I don’t know much about coins and I know this symbol might have been carved into it later or it could actually represent Native...
Hello, I found this on Coin Beach in Delaware, it rolled up to me in a wave, and I'm wondering if it's something or how to find out?
I don't want to damage it anymore than I possibly already have and it's so encrusted. A chunk came off and it looks like it removed the top a bit in travel...
I found what appears to be cast iron with Pennies inside. I found it using my Garrett ace 250 and when I put the coil towards the top hole it registers as a penny clvery consistently. Unfortunately it seems to be encased in cast iron all around so I don't know what's inside. It doesn't rattle at...
These are coins I found in a Coin Star on May 18th. The coins amount to $1.55 in clad USD and $1 in Australian coins consisting of two large fifty cent peices.
I was finally able to clean up some of the coins I found at an old farm in Delaware. I found it a little unusual because several of the coins were Canadian with dates in the 1950’s - 1960’s. I also found 5 wheat Pennies, 3 from 1940, 1 from 1941 & 1 from 1921. Also found several other coins but...
Hey everyone,
I found this coin in Western Europe.
It is made out of copper and measures about 23mm in diameter (0.9 inches).
Only one bit of detail is visible on one side of the coin.
Here's a close-up of the only bit of detail.
It's a long shot but I know there's an ID somewhere out...
Found another scattering of 1oz copper bullion coins in the surf, and one was a bitcoin! Easiest $20,000 I ever made. 🤣
Also, yes, I know it's not actually worth $20,000, it's just a piece of copper :D
Found these scattered all over the place today. Ended up with eight in total. No silver or gold ones unfortunately. Who collects copper rounds? The markup in comparison to the actual metal weight is outrageous! People pay $5-$10 for 35 cents worth of metal!? I don't get it. Wish who ever...
Yesterday I spent 5 hours metal detecting at a beach. I found 13oz of lead, some modern coins, and a coins line of wheat pennies! There are 14 wheat pennies total and one has a mint error!
Hello, I have this coin made from copper. I need help identifing the origin of this coin and from which century it is.
It has been found in North Africa, Libya.
I need help identifing how much does it worth as well
I was doing some backyard digging when I came across this coin. It looks very old, I can't read what it says. Does anyone know anything about this beauty? Trash or TREASURE?!
Found this in the seaweed wash up area of the beach, with historic significance in the northeast. Resembles designs found on reales or other old coins although i am stumped and have no idea what this is. Rings up 54-60 on my AT max and as jewelry/coins on my minelab. There is some coral or sand...
I decided to try coin roll hunting again and went through a 25 dollar box of pennies I bought yesterday.
What I found and photos below
9 wheat pennies, three of which were near mint and the earliest being 1927
3 bicentennial 2009 lincoln
2 nice-looking 2010 pennies
3 zinc 1982 pennies
Hello all! What would you wonderful people rate this coin at? Id say look at all the MS68s before you give your answer. And im also wondering why they arent grading them any higher than that?
Hello everyone,
I am just a new member. I will have a few questions for you. I live in turkey. I have my own land of about 300 decares. I found some old coins from my land last year. The coins I found came from a depth of about 20-30 cm. I am using XP deus. Also, there are no iron pieces from...
Good Evening All- I'm looking to tap into the wisdom of coin collectors and inquire on coin cleaning methods. I have a small mountain of Canadian coins that are badly corroded and therefore not useable. I'm guessing they were under water (Wishing pod or the like) for some time. (Pictures...
I was literally saying to myself that these were going to be the last rolls I'd get from the bank. I've been very unlucky. I only have found one 1967 silver out of the 70 or so rolls I've hunted. Well! Just after I said that... out popped this guy! Not old, but still silver!
Happy Canada Day to the few Canadians that go on this site! Wearing my red and white canada day shirt brought me good luck today. I went to a playground and was surprised to find a 1956 silver 1.5 inches in the gravel. First sliver from detecting this year!!! It felt awesome! Much easier then...
Recently, I found a coin in my grandmother's collection. It has a David's Star with two capital A letters, one big and one small. I have searched all over the internet and have not found anything about it. So I am posting it here and trying my luck as I am very curious about it.
Hi y'all! I've cleaned out the old playgrounds that I've found the majority of my finds at... so I looked at Google maps and found a park that I didn't realize existed. What's wierd is that when you zoom up on google, the park name doesn't come up. Just looks like a patch of grass. All the...
I hunted for about 4 hours at the 1896 house that I found the large cent that I posted awhile ago. Well... there is just SO MANY IRON SIGNALS!!! I didn't dig that many signals because it was hard to find a decent singal. Almost all the good signals were shallow modern pennies.
I found a pretty...
First order of business is a huge shout out to Pulltabfelix! He’s been helping me with tips and info for my new 800. I’ve been trying to give it about an hour each day to get to know the machine. He suggested trying some volleyball courts to start off. So today I remembered there an old court...
My 3 year old nephew came over today and asked to look for “treasure!” (Usually that consists of memorial pennies and clad coins.) We headed to our back yard to search around. The back yard has been hit hundreds of times and is very low on signals- so I told him to guide me to the “treasure”...
Just getting into detecting in the Gulf and on the beach and I'm looking for suggestions with pros/cons for long handled scoops. I'd prefer one that can be used while standing. Any info would be appreciated.
The Yocums settled on the James River in Stone County, Mo. in the 1830's. Ozark Folklore says the 4 Yocum Brothers made their own Silver Dollars from Silver mined by the Delaware Indians. I found this Half Dollar size of solid Silver on Yocum's land yesterday. I also found several 1830's flat...
