chevron symbol

The item with the chevron looking symbol is 7/8" dia. x 1" tall and hollow with strong sidewalls. Military item? The round screw cap thing has the three small holes that probably released pressure, but what was it used on? Military use? 2" across, 1 3/8" tall, and treads are 1 1/2" across...
