Found this while out detecting for gold and from the other people I have asked it’s an air rifle pallet? But there was others saying no and I just can’t seem to find one exactly the same so still a bit unsure lol and if it is an air rifle pallet, year etc? If not any ideas on what it could be...

Hello lovely experts, we are used to finding lead musket balls on our permission… but found this one today? What sort of gun/age would have it been used in please! TIA
Found this walking the beaches of Hunting Island, SC. Any clue on what kind of bullet? There are wavy grooves towards the top. There also is a copper jacket that was around it that came off. I found it inside of a rock...
Eastlake Doorknob. Bullets. Sad iron and mysterious square stamped tin pieces?
I was metal detecting on the site of a southern Ohio cabin that dates back to @1850 or earlier (only foundation remains) and found many interesting but unidentifiable artifacts. The doorknob is my favorite. I...
I found this old bullet today in a pasture field. I don't believe it goes back as far as the Civil War, but I would love to know more about it--age, use, caliber, type of gun that fired it, etc. if anyone could help me. Thanks!!!
I dug these two bullets at a park in Brooklyn NY that dates back to the 17th Century. They are probably modern bullets but any info on type and approximate age would be much appreciated. They both appear to be lead filled slugs. I have never seen one like the one on the right. Was that made flat...
Good Morning everyone!
Recently, I was metal detecting in a local woods and discovered this interesting Hexagonal bullet. That woods had alot of history judging by the relics I have uncovered there. In that aria I have found a topographical engineer button, Numerous belt buckles, coins, and...
Bit cloudy and cool today, there were quite some amount of people walking up and down the streets. It felt another perfect day to go detect. For a while I've been looking at a small strip of undisturbed forest between the road and the community park. I planned to go detecting inside the strip...
Today my girlfriend and I went to dig our trusty trash pit that keeps on giving. No bottles today but we found a few small trinkets! One cleaner bullet, one bone four hole button, one tent grommet, one strange tooth or antler tip, and two unknown items. One Of the unknowns seems to be made of...
Today was a great day! Here’s a little back story- I started metal detecting in November and I’ve been absolutely hooked. I’ve detected every single day since. This is going to be my life long passion/ hobby. I’ve found hundreds of coins in my short time digging- But they all have been mostly...
Was out with my 800 and 6" coil hunting the trashy park near my home. Was using park2 and testing my ability using the 800 to find good targets among the trash.
I dug what I thought was a metal button. But cleaning out the dirt found it was a penny. In the same hole there was another target...
This is all I could muster up today on an abbreviated hunt due to all the activities at church. I think the bullet is Civil War, but the ring thingy appears to be much newer......or not. Any ideas as to what it is? It's brass and has what appears to be graduated threads or two sets of...
Me and my dad got out yesterday to one of our first hunting grounds next to an old Sugar mill, testing the AT pro in zero mode. Did not expect to find this after aluminum can after aluminum can...
What are the chances it still has fabric on it, or is that part of the bullet such as wrapping...
I found an old bullet this afternoon, although I am not sure how old it is, the things I have found at this site range from 1830s to now and it was found in NE Ohio. The width is about 8 mm, a bit more, and the length is a little less than 16 mm. I am not able to get much more precise...
So, I have a big piece of Iron I found alongside some old axe heads (and pick head) and some Early 1800s items. Most I have found in this area has been late 1700s to early 1800s. It was a farm into the 1960s but I have not found much from that era. I have also found a trigger guard and a butt...
I found this bullet earlier today in some recently upturned soil near Philadelphia, PA. I believe it is a .22lr(?), but was wondering if anyone has some further insight into it, particularly a rough date. Thanks!
Alrighty... the site I was hunting used to be a vineyard. Showed up on a map from the 1870s but not on any other maps (the map from before this one was 1850s and next one was early 1900s). There is a house in the area built in 1920 where I have found coins ranging from 1882 to modern clad. I was...
I was metal detecting on an old property, multiple silver coins came out of it and a 1847 large cent and I found this piece of lead. Ive never found a civil war bullet and would like to know if this is possibly my first. It seems like the right shape, size, and weight, but it looks like somebody...
Hello everyone - we are new to this site (this is our first post). My 23 year old daughter (the one actually typing this out) and I got really into metal detecting about a year and half ago and now we finally feel like we can make a post on here! It all started from a surprise Christmas gift...
I bought this artillery ? at a yard sale. It weighs 15 pounds, it is 12 inches tall, 3 1/2" diameter at the bottom , threaded inside. It's made of solid cast iron, I think.
I've attached pics.
Questions:
What is it?
Is it safe and not live?
Many thanks

Some ammo from WW2, .50 cal shells. 2 from st louis stamped in 43 and 1 stamped CL also from 43. 5.56 round same origin and year. Lucky enough to find the slug from one of the .50's a incendiary round. And to top it off a strip clip
Had a gorgeous day to hunt here in central VA.
I was only able to turn up one lone bullet, a .54 cal Burnside, along with a ton of ferrous material (need I.D. on some, check 'What Is It' if you're interested). All-in-all still a great day to be in the field.
Went to the train tracks today. Found a little grove of trees by an older house. Fist beep was super loud... up came this neat old wheel! Is it an old pram wheel? How old do ya think it is? There was tons of chunks of iron everywhere so I quit. But next year I'll go back with a good detector and...
Hello. I would just like clarification on this bullet. I'm pretty sure its modern , but it has such a old patena I thought i'd see what the community says.
I have my Equinox 800 so one assigned tone break is 16-19 for civil war bullets.
but a large old style pull tab rings up a solid 16.
so is there any other way to overcome this problem or do I just have to dig all 16 TID's.
john
The intact bullet I dug in Lovejoy, Ga. where 2 or 3 CW engagements took place in 1864. I'm pretty sure it's an Enfield, but is there a method to determine Confederate or Union? SIZE ..... length .955 ...... diameter .575 +- .003. don't know the weight
The flattened lead I found in...
Need help to identify the bullet dug in Lovejoy, Ga. 4-5" deep. Size ..... Length .955 +- .003 - Diameter .577. Don't know weight.
Photo of Flattened lead found this past weekend in Stockbridge, Ga. Just by feel, it's weight is of the Enfield bullet. Opinions ??
Thanks y'all ...
This was an incredible hunt with some incredible people. Met up with my buddy Chris (aka birddogg on Youtube) and my buddy Exploring Alabama. Chris had a spot he wanted to comb through with a group so he invited us to come dig. There weren't a great number of relics found but the relics that...
My 12 yr old has taken up metal detecting lately and we found this bullet about 6-9" buried off an old Alaskan trail northwest of Palmer before Hatcher's Pass. It appears to be around a 44 or 45 maybe and 400 grain.
He thinks it should go on eBay and is the find of the century :-)
Anyone able to...
So, Iv'e dug many bullet casings while metal detecting most of them are post 1950's and I know that they are just worth the scrap value. But Iv'e also dug many bullet casings from early 1900's to 1950's and I wonder if they have some monitary value. Iv'e dug many readable dates casings from...
So today I went to an location that I'm on very often. Iv'e found coins from mid 1700's to early 2000's there. I'm trying to get proof that some people lived there back in the day while the people living there says the houses are from 1930's and all the people from the 1700 & 1800's was just...
Yesterday was one of the wetest days I've ever spent out digging, but it was totally worth it. I revisited the place where I found my saloon token and found some more cool stuff. First was this panama Canal watch fob that I believe dates back to 1913, then there's a Bull Durham Tobacco charm...
