I came to this site after finding a treasure that I was trying to find information on. I found this in southern Arkansas on the surface just lying there. I believe it is from a sunken vessel because it was found on the edge of a water source. Any information on this would be appreciated. I am in...
Hi all,
These two unusual 'banana' shaped iron objects were found on a farm field, Europe. Other finds were a range of iron objects (including modern) and a Roman hob nail (ID'ed on this forum).
Material: Iron. 6 cm (2.36 inches) & 7 cm (2.75 inches).
Thanks in advance,
Kaj
Hey all,
First post on this forum of my first and last 'hunt' of 2022. I stumbled across a field with unusual crop marks. A two-day search followed in an attempt to find out more about this place. The results were somewhat disappointing. A pile of iron (lots of UO's - Unidentified objects -)...

Hello! Had a interesting morning. Have had a of of rain recently, with a lot of erosion occurring in the front yard. Not only do we live on a hill that has previously been landscaped a total of 3-5 feet of digging to lessen the steep grade, but it's also right by a known river that a Indian...
I just started getting into collecting Native American Artifacts. Mostly points but I do collect other things. Thought I would share a photo of my newbie collection thus far. Made the Shadow boxes myself. Inlaid the shadow box lids with buffalo nickels and epoxied arrowheads (fake ones) to the...
My uncle found two helmets a few years ago and ever since, my family has been debating on the origin and value of them. I'm under the impression that the helmets are from two separate places, found by a collector. Please help us!
I found this large rock in an abandoned garden, just north of Crescent City, California.
Can anyone tell me what it is and what made those marks?
The rock is approximately as big as a platter, and the marks go all the way around the rock in by a complete circle.
Thank you!
Hello fellow treasure hunters,
There's always been stories about some ancient [very precious] treasures in my village. For as long as I can remember, our elders (their elders told them and so on :-)) told us, that the people who lived on this land before us, hid their riches and fortunes in...
My friend was going to use this for an ashtray! I stopped him though and bought it from him and now I'm hoping to find out a bit more about it...... he found it in a house his demolition crew was going to tear down. There were many other antiques (even some ancient ones!) there and some were...

I am including a link to a dropbox folder where there are photos of artifacts found in Central Texas that appear to be much older than all the other sites I have been on in my life. Nothing about the site fits any others. The tools are well worn and greasy when first pulled out. Many have...

I bought this at auction. The description was only 'meso american bronze dagger, on modern display, 10"L." I figure it's just a new decorative piece, and paid accordingly. If so, it sure does seem to be a really well done/aged modern. I spent hours searching forums, museum sites, etc to no...
Found this on the beach in Puerto Rico. The black lines have been carved out and the glaze seems to have been tempered with sand perhaps as it has some sparkles in parts of it. Fairly thick and appears to be hand made (no wheel throwing lines). If i could get an aprox date of origin or place of...

I recently purchased this ring online, which was listed as being made of bronze and from the "Byzantine/Medieval" period.
Is this an accurate description, and if so, any rough guesses as to the age?
I've attached some close-up shots, along with some nifty microscopic photos of the hands and...
Hello everyone,
I purchased these two plates at an estate sale in my home town of Spokane, Washington. They reminded me of pictures I remembered seeing of ancient Greek pottery. When in inquired about them, the woman running the sale told me that they had been her grandmothers. She did not know...
I was going through my finds for this year and this Ancient coin puzzles me.
I was in a local fresh water lake when I found this one.
Here is a picture of this old coin I found in the lake this season. Most coins come out of the lake all black and grungy or the copper is corroded away and old...
This coin was picked up at a garage sale for 25 cents. Its in very poor condition, but still has identifying marks. I have no idea what it is. How about you guys?
This odd ceramic shard was recovered from low tide of a tidal river last week East of New York City by a friend. There appears to be some written language on it (almost resembling runes). The piece is approximately palm-sized. :dontknow: Anyone care to provide info on age, origin use?
