19th C. NYC Work Horse Skull

A skull of a NYC working horse. This horse would have pulled carts and carriages over the paving stone lined streets of 19th C. NYC. It was born roughly 1880 and died in about 1910 at the age of 30 when its body was used in a 1910-era landfill. It remained intact in anaerobic clay.
