My buddy George and I got out this morning for around three hours at a spot we've been hunting.
It pretty much rained the whole time and the first few inches were still frozen. So far the oldest coin found here is a 1731 KG copper and the newest a 1917 wheatie. George found the only silver today a 1905 Barber quarter. I found what appears to be my first clay marble. Also a piece of a clay pipe stem. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully, next Sunday. The first set of photos is my finds from today and the second is George's.

I used the X5 today. I mainly use it for all relic hunting.

That looks like a great hunt! Nice King George copper. What's the lead(?) disk forth picture down? Looks interesting. I like the counter stamped J*T coin. Any ideas on that?
Nice finds!
Dave.

I'm not sure what that lead thing is. I'll take a picutre of the other side and post it when I get home from work tonight. Not sure about the counter stamped KG. Could've been from a local store back in the day.

I love the counterstamped Georgie. Also the 3 holed copper you don't see often. I found one this year and Don in SJ said mine was the first he has seen. Most have one or 2.

In my couterstamped book it quotes a J.T (I know yours is a star but likely the same person) who was an Irish Trader (fits with the coin). Not much known about him other than he might have been a silversmith or cutler :icon_thumright:

wow! You have some fantastic finds there!! congrats

Some nice finds made...nice counterstamped Hybernia :icon_thumright:
