Great sunny warm DAY in the low 70's and FIRST stopped at a Grade School that used to be the old High School and found these coins below:
That included 13-quarters, 13 dimes & 11-cents - All clad that was around a baseball field and nearby playground with swings etc.
Then made my SECOND stop just 1/2 mile away in the very small city park and found these coins below - AND the very first coin was an undated but nicely worn Silver SLQ and it was only 2 to 3 inches below the surface with a couple rusty nails, in the middle of the small grassy park - I picked up that coin checked the area around it and didn't find anything else stood up and looked to my right and not 7 to 8 feet away and saw the next 4 coins you see in the picture below (after the SLQ) and YES laying on top of the ground in plain view the shiny 3 clad quarters & a nickel all within about the first 5 minutes of getting there:
Was only at the small park for less than an hour - I guess I need to go back there soon.
ANYWAY, the total was 51 coins for the day of 19-quarters(including the SLQ), 13-dimes, 1-nickel & 18-cents for a $-total of $6.28 but the silver SLQ has about $3 melt value at the current price of silver $17.77 per ounce. Good Luck & Happy Hunting everyone........BILL
