That is a nice axe Iron Patch. A very underrated find if you ask me. Good job. Hope it cleans up nicely .

I don't consider most axes I find as a good find but one that dates 1730-1760 is much better.

That's a great find! These were the workhorses of clearing out trees to build homesites and settle this country. Excellent relic there!

Mid 1700's trade axe...a good find in anyone's book!!!
 

Thanks. To answer both who asked the age, the site dates about 1740 or 1750 and so did all the finds.

Cleaning will be electrolysis, not sure how I will coat it.
