Beautiful day New York today got out for a six hour hunt that yielded some nice finds.
First coins of the day was a Wheatie spill, I kept saying to myself where is the silver that goes with it and second to last total of a total of eight coins, popped out 1892 Barber dime! I was very happy to see some silver minted in the 1800s. Dates of the wheat cents, 1913, 1919, 1926, 1930, 1937, 192?, and 193?. Sorry I cannot make out the last numbers on two of them.
Managed to find two other silver Rosies, 1947D and 1947S.
Amongst some of the other finds today was a brooch or pin but apparently it's only gold plated or fake gold plate over copper.
Got a pretty deep target 96 reading on the Deus, I was thinking silver quarter maybe but out came a Large Cent. I saw the liberty head through the crust. I was excited cause I haven't dug a large cent in quite a while. After getting it back home and cleaning it up a bit suddenly I noticed it had two heads. Two coins shaved down mended as one. This is the second time this happened to me, A couple years ago or so I found a clad quarter with a date from the 60s (I believe 1967) that was two coins mended together to create a double headed coin. Never thought I'd find a large cent that way though LOL. Looks like the date on one side is 1852, the other side is unreadable.
Anyway fun day and some cool finds. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.
