I felt very privileged to be able to detect a field that saw Roman settlement with a friend.

It was my first relic hunt back for good in my home country after years abroad with little time to detect back home and I was very excited when I discovered my first ever Roman coin after a slow season last year.
In the end I found more than one which made it a perfect day for me.

1 in the top right is in very good condition, the others are more or less toasted but hey, they've been lying around for a while :laughing7:
Coins are only about 5mm in diameter, I was surprised such small coins exist.

Thanks for checking in and happy hunting everyone!

Yeap, just need another 50 or so & then maybe a silver.

I hope my settings had something to do with that. Awesome finds man, more where that came from.

As a matter of fact, yes, these coins give a tiny almost not audible signal, 2 or 3 no signal at all only a faint dot in the 12-04 range of the CTX ..after a while I tried your settings with the Ferrous-coin and sure enough I picked one out from under a nail so big thanks!

I live close to Bonn but on the east side of the Rhine in the so called "Siebengebirge" hills

Congrats on your first Roman.
Bravo

Some day, some day I hope :D

It will happen but they are a hard beast to find. It's like us losing a £50 note or a $100 note.

Also, I forgot to send my congrats, sometimes these become the norm when you find 1000 a year. But I do remember the thrill of my first few. 20-50 in a year was more normal at the beginning.
