I made a new friend, (Jay), and hunting buddy while metal detecting earlier this year. He turned me on to a spot that I had never tried before. I hit it and that hunt resulted in my first Half Dime ever. As an expression of appreciation, I decided to show him a few spots that he has never been too.
On Saturday, we met at a neutral location that we both hunt and had first met. I managed to squeeze a 1907 Barber Dime, a 1903 Indian Head Penny, and a 1905 "V" Nickel.

On Sunday, Jay picks me up and we headed north to a few spots that I have hunted years ago. Nice to ride in a car once in a while. lol.
The first location we hit gave me a Silver 5 Franc just recently. I wasn't expecting much but you just never know. Sure enough, Jay starts pulling wheat pennies. About an hour into the hunt, I hear the word, "Silver." Jay got himself a 1926 Mercury Dime. I told him to be sure to check for an "s" mintmark when he got it home. (Semi key date). Soon after, things slowed down so we moved to a second location.
We picked away at some clad and a few wheat pennies. One interesting find I made was a Screw Back Button with a Small Star on it. After perhaps an hour and a half, it was time to move on to the 3rd location for the day.
This spot gave me a really pretty full date 1918 Buffalo Nickel a few years ago. It was also the location where a turn of the century home once stood. Jay got a skeleton key, and a few deep wheat pennies. I git a few old wheat pennies, (13, 18, & 26), and then recovered a 1938 Mercury Dime.

It's always nice to share a hunt and to come home with silver.
