We were planning on going to try a new permission, but couldn't get ahold of the land-owner.
So we decided to go back to old faithful instead. This place has been on fire with all of the recent rains, and today was no exception.
Ended up with another half real cob. Was beginning to think they were all gone.:notworthy:

A few more musketballs and a couple cool lead Bale Seals. One has some letters that I cant make out, and the other large one has a several crowns on it. :headbang:
The seals are my first, so im pretty excited about these. Ive dug a ton of lead here, but nothing I could positively say were seals until today. Anyone seen these be4?

Also managed to dig a small FCM button with no shank, a nice 1888 IHP and a 1912D Wheatie. And 2 Brass what is it's.
One looks like a leather ornamental that has some clips on the back. This thing looks like it was the latch to a pouch. Any ideas????
Also a brass item that looks like a hair-pin. Could there have possibly been stones in the rings//////???

My first pipe stem, a cool ornamental piece of pottery, a bead and part of a torso and arm. Ive dug a ton of pottery here, but this is the first neat designed piece.
Also dug this neat gold plated item that I think was a hairclip. Found both pieces in 2 diff holes. Thought I had gold for a minute, but I think its plated.:BangHead:

Very nice finds ,,,love that cob and seals...Congrats

Enjoy digging those cobs while it lasts!

The seal with the crowns design is interesting, but is not familiar.... but that doesn't mean much as the variety as endless. Your other seal dates with the 1800s finds.

I cant get over all the cobs you're digging there. Congrats brother. Like IP said, enjoy it while it lasts. It really is a special place.

Yeah. I haven't dug one in a couple weeks, but instead have been finding buttons and coppers, as the high tones have started to dissipate.
I was really thinking all of the silver might be gone. I had to swing under some bushes to find this one.
I really like the one with crowns. Im pretty sure this one could be early 1700s.
I was thinking the one with letters might be more modern, but they were found about 5 feet from one another.

You had another beauty hunt getting the Cob, and other interesting finds. The cuff-links are a nice recovery as well, as the seal.

I've hunted many early French sites and it's definitely a treat to see a cob come out. Given the amount of time I've spent at these places, and some luck too, I have a nice little collection of cobs.... but you ask any of the other guys in my area who are on the Tnet.... Ironhorse, The Patriot, Romeo... and they'll tell you digging a cob is a special day. In fact I don't think the Patriot has ever found one, but he sure has hunted many early sites.

Thanks GW. I cant believe it either. This site has been awesome. Numero Ocho for 2015.

Before it's all said and done you still might get a nice French marked seal out of there. There's as many keepers come in the low to mid range sounds, so you definitely want to dig until there's nothing left but the iron.

Good lord, the quality and consistency of your finds...Wish I had a cob for every 7.5 of my posts. : )

Thanks Pepper. I did a little fist pump when I got the cob. I really wasn't expecting it. I was working an area ive hunted many times. Just a little swipe under some bushes made it happen.
Are you referring to those 2 gold items as cuff links? Not sure what they are, but when I first saw them I thought, "GOLD", until I saw the word "PLATED".
Still a neat find, but man they looked pretty when they first came out of the ground, just like gold......

Alright, I've had about enough out of you! Now your just showing off. Lol
I cant even imagine what is still left there, with you mostly digging them high tones???
Beep dig brother, beep dig!!!
Congrats again. And Happy new year.

I was spoiled in the beginning, sometimes finding 2 in one hunt. Now im finding one every 3rd hunt.
I can only imagine these will occur less and less. Its been an awesome ride..... Im starting to appreciate them more, as im digging less.

Yeah kind of crazy. Ive hunted this area at least a dozen times, and then within 5 minutes and 5 feet, I find my first 2 seals.
Im sure its due to my digging everything now, as in the beginning I was cherrypicking.
I really like the lead seals. It would be cool to find some more. Will def. have to get back there and continue digging ALL signals.
No telling what else could be there.

The name krementz plate made cuff links especially the button styled links.

Thanks George. Happy New Year to you as well.
Im starting to dig everything now, or at least everything repeatable that is above iron.
Also going really slow trying to squeak out any little peep, or hidden signal.
Gona work this baby with a fine tooth comb. Who knows what is still waiting to be uncovered.

Thanks Pepper. Ive been so fixated on trying to id the other finds, I haven't searched Krementz plate.
Looks like youre right about the cufflink. Sucks its plated. When they came out of the ground they looked sooooooo good. Krementz plate must have been quality plating..

Your cob collection is getting quite impressive, and I'm sure you're not finished finding them at that amazing site. Keep hitting that place hard.

Thanks Bill for the compliment and the encouraging words. I think there has to be a couple more in there somewhere.
There are still a couple areas I haven't searched. My goal was 16, since I cant find a big 8R. Im half way there.

Man what a stretch you've had. People just don't understand how hard these sites are to locate. Incredible cob. I'm loving your finds bud

I gotta tell ya, if that was my site, I probably wouldn't be looking for another until I was walking around in utter silence!
Still lots if good quality finds coming out!

Crank the sensitivity and drop the discrimination and see what happens
