I was off of work last Thursday and Friday, so I slipped out with Smittyman for a bit of hunting. I was lucky enough to located the following items:

- '20 & '34 green wheaties in the same hole.
- Large green shell casing.
- Button w/ eagle & anchor.
- '43 & '44 OD nickels. Nothing like seeing that large shiny "P", when you wipe it off.
- '48 Washington quarter.

On Saturday, I ventured out with TNetter, Kurt Stuben. We hit a place that everyone has already hunted to death ( a house built in 1949). There was a big stick on the ground (that everyone had been walking around), I moved it out of the way, and sure enough, there was a deep weak signal under it, I dug the target and a green copper disc appeared... after some debate, it turns out that it is a KGII! My first colonial coin.

Just goes to show that you NEVER know what you will find.

YTD silver coins: 81.

Thanks for looking, and best of luck on your hunts!

Damn Tom, I thought I found a great coin, but your find blows my weekend finds away. :occasion14: It couldn't happen to a better guy here on Tnet. Lord knows you've been putting in the time swinging the coil. You are also killing me on total silvers. I am at 53 for the year (3 over my goal).

Yes definitely a king George III...Congrats on your first

CT I remember when you told me that you marked one of your Super Secret locations with sticks for me and when I got there it looked like this

Very nice, Tom. Congrats on the KG coin.

Sweet find! Only two of the "I's" remain visible on the coin but it is indeed a KG III. It does look like it could be a strange variety though...excellent work

Your first!?!
I thought by now you would have a huge pile, well, it starts with one!
The start of a colonial copper pile!

Great hunt Tom and congrats on your first Colonial KG  Like that button and those silvers too.

Great score on the silvers. Congrats on the old copper!!!!

Nic finds Tom, and congrats on your first colonial!

Looks like a KG III Hibernia to me.

Awesome hunt Tom! Congratz on a bucket list item!!!

Looks like a KG III Hibernia to me.

That's exactly what it is. I didn't look at that first pic where it's very clear. George III Hibernia 1770s/80s.

Awesome finds Tom! Congrats
