I found another large area of property near Fredericksburg, with permission, that was supposed to have campsites from the Civil War. I think I found a spot that had something a lot older. I found, so far, 8 flat buttons and a really old square buckle.

20150810_174706.webp This wasn't to far from the buckle, you think it could have belonged to it?

I found the bullets in a different part of the property, three of the bullets were in the same hole. Thanks for checking them out, can't wait to get back into those woods.

Congrats on the new oldest coin and other nice finds. Like that old buckle.

Congrats on all those relics and the 1875 IHP. I Love to find those just as much as a rosie and a merc. :occasion14:

good job on the finds!, I think that buckle was a shoe buckle, and that piece was likely a part of it, very cool stuff!

Nice grouping of finds, not sure if the tongue belongs to the buckle frame or not.

You have a civil war site overlapping a colonial site. The buttons are 18th century as is the shoe buckle and the forked piece from a shoe buckle. You get to dig Civ and Cologne on the same site!

I think the forked piece is the "tongue" for that frame. A shoe buckle, flat buttons and 1875 IHC, that should be an excellent place to hunt. GL!

Very nice finds! Congrats on your new oldest coin.

Nice overlapping site!!! Love that colonial frame as well as the buttons and civil war Minnie's!

Nice relics you have there.

IHP.webp Here is a pic of the IH cleaned up. Turned out nice. It still has a nice deep green color, the light it was under made it look a lot lighter.

Yeap, you got an 18th C site.

Should be some older coins in there! Great finds
