We been having some really nice temps lately for December in Kentucky and was hoping to find some time to sneak out during the holiday to a CW Camp that we just recently located.
So finally yesterday the temps were in the 50's and sunny with the day off for the holiday "Lifes a garden dig it" and myself hit the field making some really nice finds with a variety of bullets, several 69's, some 58's some pulled, 52 sharps, multiple pistol balls, scabbard tip, two musket nose caps, puppy paws and arrow hooks for two different buckles, seven knapsack hooks, a couple triangles, keg spigot key, a couple flat buttons, one Eagle button with the front deteriorated, small chain, rivets, part of a spur, smashed mess plate, quite a few pounds of camp lead and a couple brass pieces not for sure about, if anyone might know what the heavy brass piece is that is beside the nose cap and above the bullets please let me know.

It really was nice getting out on such a beautiful day and hopefully we can make a return trip before the New Year.

Thanks for looking and Hope Everyone has a Great 2015, Bill

Nice find. What part of the state are you located.

Wow! Awesome finds! I'm sure you will pull a plate from there. Great Job!

Hope you have a good New Year

Thanks, you are so right and when you say hunt that word is defined by countless hours of research, walking and swinging many miles of ground in all types of weather, searching hundreds of acres for hope and when the relics are located, its all about the history.

Hope you have a Great New Year

It never ceases to amaze me that there are sites like

this still producing with all the hard nosed dirt dogs out there.

It's all about the research and you can never under estimate

dumb luck. Good job on locating this site and good luck on your future hunts.

Nice finds there Nova. I'm not seeing a canteen cork puller - it looks like a keg spigot key to me, like the one in this picture.
