My second career half dollar. For once the screaming 90's ID was not a soda can. A half dollar is a welcome sight coming out of the dirt, even if not very old. Funny I've never found real silverware before this year, this year I got a number of broken pieces, and a complete spoon.

I think the little buckle is colonial.

OK so that was yesterday. I just got back from some random digging, and this is the cool Silver, I don't know what it is, but my first thought was a little tea pot, as it has a small "pig tail" thing on the back, that might have been the handle...now I'm not so sure It is flattened out quite bad, but I'm thinking it was never round to begin with. Only decorated on the one side. Any ideas ?

Nice eclectic mix of silver. Always nice to see a big silver half come up. Congrats!

Great stuff Rick...that buckle is definitely a colonial shoe or breech buckle.

Nice silvers, Rick! :) The half dollar is a beauty.

Great find on the half dallor Rick, the rest is not too shabby either. Liking the buckle as well.
Could that be a piece from a silver candle holder?
ZDD

Good finds, I love it when a 90 is a good thing.

What's that "half dollar" crap, we got 50 cent pieces, big big difference lol
Always nice to see silver in the dirt, at least that's what I said when I dug my '51 25 cents this pm

Looks like you were on another multi generational site, that's where just about anything can show up

You're exactly right, "anything" could show up there. From as old as possible in this area up to yesterday. Keeps it interesting.

That's what I like about those sites. Well except for the modern trash getting in the way
Btw, did you check the date letter on the spoon handle, it looks like one on the early side of the site?

Very cool, and I know how much you love half dollars!

No I haven't, but if you can cipher it be my guest.
Here's a closer look.

Got it myself.
