3 an hour is a good average, I look to hit 1 every hour, so keep hitting it.
 

I am amazed at how the Roman coins are still there for you to dig and not completely corroded away. Great bunch of finds!

The coins are there, but the condition depends on the soil and the material used. Some are good bronze and last long. The ones from sunday are nice for the soil they were hidden in. These here are very bad and came from a place the coins are usually good. Most coins we dig here are 1800s prussian. I have a good set of them, but also a jar full of bad ones. The fertilizer eats the patina and plain discs were left. You can say that the romans made good coins...
