I am sure that it was a hunt and that he was not leading the bird enough......

very true....

Has been identified by Fish and Game as a earlier version of bird band, it is made of a special alloy, part monel, to not corrode, they are searching records now. It is also too coincidental that it is riddled with birdshot, I have found newer Avise bands which are Federal...This is State, just hoping they can still dig up records, hoping it is not a common bird.

If you have found hundreds of them...Taxidermists buy them...However I think I know what you are talking of, and they do come off of sacks of feed, however they are probaly aluminum...and ten to one they do not have birdshot in them.

Notice in picture the prefix ME-B, Maine Bird

Has been identified by Maine Wildlife as one of their Bird Bands, made of a special alloy, possibly 1958, they are searching the records.

The riveted bands are the early ones, most likely 1958.
