Hello!

I think it's been a few weeks since I've posted here. Haven't been out detecting nearly as much as I should have been! But I got out today after work for a few hours ~ I met up with Ron downtown. I found plenty of clad and a few wheat cents . . . . . but I managed to find a couple silver treasures that made my day! I dug a 1941-S Merc dime in an area that I had pounded several time over the past few years! Also, I dug a sterling silver thimble (size 4). It's only the 2nd silver thimble that I've dug in over 17 years of metal detecting!

I took a picture of the inside of the thimble ~ kinda of a cool looking shield with a fancy looking "S". Anyone know what this mark means? Any idea how old this thimble is?

This Merc dime is my silver coin find #55 for the year.

Thanks for looking!
Neil

Thanks man!

Yeah ~ I've found some cool looking advertizing thimble that are aluminum, but the sterling thimbles are AWESOME! Now if I could just find a gold thimble now!
