Ordered a Le Trap Sluice this week and should be delivered mid week. I will cut out the end to make it a river robber. I have aluminum angle and flats to make the reinforcing frame. Question I have is, if i use this in slow moving creek should i make a flare to put on it? From what i have read the Le Trap is prefered with fast moving water high volume.

Not only yes but LL YES--you definately bought the best and watch out as most stolen sluice I've ever had the displeasure of having 2 stolen right outta' the crik too-tons a au 2 u2 -John PS RUSSAU DUCK BUD AS THEM TWISTERS A COMN' YOUR WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you don't have the Flairs you can get by with v'ing rocks to direct more water to the sluice. Just a temporary fix.

John, them twisters dont bother me anymore! they know if one of them crushs my home, itll give me good reason to move to Colorado or parts unknown to dredge!all we got was a lot of rain/wind! and i am already full of hot air anyway!:)

When your bad--your good bud--I'd like to hit Leonards claim with the big nugget he found in the video. Who know maybe a twister will redeposit your house in a more dredge friendly state, just don't hit the witch like Dorothy and Todo---tons a au 2 u 2 -John

Never tried a Le Trap but they sure look like the downspout splash block I can get at the local hardware store for $6: http://www.guttersupply.com/file_area/public/categories/ImageUrl_1298039065_9833.JPG

Here they are side by side: Notice the gold would easily wash down the sides on the splash block.

Saw a vid where a guy glued dowels on the sides with silicon caulking to prevent that GG.

I noticed that too but thought I'd share as so many of us like to make stuff work. I thought I might cut one up and put it at the front of a home made sluice as an indicator.
