Little more info from Treasure Depot Buckle Daddies :

"IM NOT 100%, BUT THE ENGINEER BUCKLES WERE RECTANGULAR UNTIL 1832 REGULATIONS SPECIFIED THEM TO BE ELIPTICAL (OVAL FOR DUMMIES LIKE ME), IT LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE 1830 TO 1845 MILITIA OFFICERS PLATES IN KERSIS AND ODONNELLS BOOKS ,I AM SURE THAT THERE WERE MANY STYLES AT THE TIME A SUPER FIND, I HOPE THE TONGUE IS FOUND ALSO"

Very nice!!!As said there are an infinite amount of varieties.It is very similar to the Hanover specimen,but yours isnt a false two piece. :icon_scratch:
