Has anyone read this book "The Oak Island Mystery Solved! By Joy A. Steele. 2014. "

here is a review that gives her theory Journal of Folklore Research: JFR Review for The Oak Island Mystery Solved! I am a bit surprised that the Lagina brothers never mentioned this theory

"Ultimately, she concludes that Oak Island was once used to manufacture naval stores for the British Navy and that the mysterious pits on the island are the remains of tar kilns."

I tried to find a free copy online but were interested if others have read it and what they think of her theory.

Anything is possible, even that theory. there is a guy on here that maintains that Oak Island was a drydock of sorts. Draw water out and then pump it back in to re-float the fixed ship. treasure? Maybe too. Nobody knows, but several treasures have been spent trying to figure it out...

Problem with the "British"

I have not read her book, but I am puzzled that the review stated that ownership of this Tar Kiln was British?

It goes on to state that these Kilns were abandoned during the economic collapse, around 1720.

Acadia was claimed and maintained by the French up until 1757 when they succeeded it to the British.

This allowed the British Freemasons in 1762 to build the Oak Island Money Pit.

Robot, part of my ancestors were Evangelists and were run out of Arcadia, ya know about lil Eve running across the ice and slipping, landing on her butt thingie. My ancestors had land in 'arcadia, perhaps even on Oak Island, since they were never paid for it, maybe I own part of Oak island :dontknow::laughing7::laughing7:

Boudreau - too damn many of them to do the research. :laughing7:

Hi Real

Make sure they give you back "Lot 17"!

It is where I show the Freemason's Treasure Vault to be located.

Mainland Nova Scotia was ceded to the British following the Siege of Port Royale in 1710.

You are right!

Nova Scotia including Oak island was British with the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713.

Acadia...In 1763 France ceded the rest of New France, except the islands of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, to Great Britain and Spain at the Treaty of Paris, which ended the Seven Years' War (the French and Indian War). Britain received Canada, Acadia, and the parts of French Louisiana which lay east of the Mississippi River–except for the Île d'Orléans, which was granted to Spain, along with the territory to the west – the larger portion of Louisiana.

Joy Steele is an avid participant in several Facebook Groups hell bent on convincing everyone there is no previous history of New France in the secret of OI.

She is even friends with the finder of the Nolan Cross stones in 2003 that were buried and hidden until he found the Rosicrucian Order Ciphers in the works of Shakespeare written by Francis Bacon.

Even after acknowledging his finds as being before her theory, she still asserts the Money Pit was dug in the 1700's.....

It's so funny watching an author backtrack to "remember" she left out key elements to sell her product.

Just Saying the theory is very circumstantial at best.....
