I hit my first field that in the past has yielded a nice pestle and many hafted scrapers. The hafted scrapers held up with 3 complete hafted scapers found, tips and bases also
The second point was very close to the first blade tip
Broke
First hafted scraper
Close
Small point
Another small point, nice color
Looks like a base poking out
Was a crude hafted scraper style
Broken point made of harrison county, bummer it was broke. Nice shape
A round base style, ohio material
Another broke
Pulled out a large crude blade tip
A small base
A faker, thought it was a point, but not, even had what looked like notches
Very small hafted scraper
Small blade tip
Second field now, close to where I found the ax and red dove last year.
And there is was, a small ax, I saw the rock about 7 feet away. With what looked like a groove but very faint.
it was a small ax, possibly what could be considered miniature
Looking good
You can see here only a small part was exposed.
Very close another point.
Then a small tip a little later
This small point almost looked like a flake until I looked closer
Here you can see the small notch and how the recurve of the sharpening caused the curve
The ax after wash - groove seen better
In profile you can see the groove an ax shape
The poll is not too beat up
The bit is in pretty good shape
The entire lot -- sort of bad pic, if I get the notion I will take more of them
Weather was overcast with slight drizzle in the morning from about 9 until 11
After 11 it was overcast, winds were steady. Temps were forecasted to get into the 60s however it only reached low 50s. So pretty cool, hat gloves - ear muff style.
I threw down the look like a blind drunk hobo dressed me I am sure.
Ground conditions were good due to the overnight rain and drizzle, Overcast resulted in low shadows.
Field 1 ground conditions were very good
Corn stubble in field 2 were extensive so the finds there was very good for the field conditions
