I dug this plate in a nice lady's front yard on James Island,S.C. a few years ago.The backmark is the letter " M "

Don Troiani has id'd it as a personal coat of arms plate.c.1790-1810

When I first saw it I instantly thought 1790s. But extended my estimate, as I thought it too early for US. Wasn't too far off the mark.
