Hey all. Thanks for visiting. Newbie as far as detecting goes. Looking to hit areas in AZ? I'm game to go about anywhere. Do this for the exercise, the outdoors, plus finding a small treasure (nugget, coin, trash). So if you need a buddy to go with, or need some areas for hunts, message me and I'll try to help ya out. I go up north quite a bit (Payson area) and I've even got an area I found some gold (from panning). Now I'm looking for the nuggets..LOL.
Hi! Lived 2 years in Sierra Vista AZ and hiked lots in the nearby Huachuca Mountains; did a little rock collecting. This was before I got into metal detecting hobby. You may be able to get permission to detect on some areas of Fort Huachuca -- though it's still active military base, it covers lots of terrain and they might okay detecting on certain areas which are open to public for hiking and picnics. Fort Huachuca used to be a base for the Buffalo soldiers, among other regiments. Have fun wherever you roam! Andi
I'm pretty new myself. I did some beach combing in Massachusetts before this and had hoped Arizona would be more open, but have been disappointed. I had joined the GPAA and went to a few claims, but not too smart being alone and had even seen Mexican traffic with AK47. Been learning to play golf, fixing the house/land and after two years just now finding more time to get out.
I'm a newbie to this hobby, but have been an outdoor nut since I was a kid. Trying to use ATG to find gold or anything else that beeps. Love the old west and I'll be using this hobby to clean up our desert play lands. Just out for the fun and excercise. If I make some cash in the process it's just a bonus. Lol.
