You can't tell in the picture but off to our left is a carnival. Maybe 100 feet away.
The guy standing to my left is a carny.
Anyway, Early in the morning two of my friends were detecting there and guy came up to them and said his friend lost his ring. They searched where he told them to but no luck.
I figured the guy was just lying. People seem to do that all the time just to amuse themselves.
Later in the day I went there with one of the two guys who hunted there earlier that day, yesterday.
This big dude comes up to me and he said he lost his wedding ring. I was skeptical and I made him show me his hand. I could see where there used to be a ring on his finger. So I believed him after that.
He pointed to an area where he thought he lost it. He left and my friend and I looked. No luck.
A few minutes later the guy came back and I had him show me exactly where he was. We were right next to a large metal storage container. I could only search so close to it. We'd just searched there.
The man started walking off and looked down in the grass about 6 inches from the container. I'm like, heyy heyyy heyyyy!!! I saw it just laying there. It took about 5 seconds to find it. I bent down and picked it up and handed it to him. It's nuts nobody else saw it before me.
He pulled out his cash and tried to pay me. I'm like noooo but I could use a picture to post online. He happily agreed. =)
I don't know if it counts as a detecting find since I found it with my eyes but it's ring #74 of the year for me. 14 of those are gold. =)
