I've been checking online for images and video but not getting much yet showing the coins up close or any kind of visual details of the contents. Definitely not even well enough to make me drool :p It's only been two days though, i'll keep checking...

Yea, I refuse to believe that they opened up that box, and said Oh, there are some old coins...one is dated 1652!, and that was that. PLEASE tell me that someone was like, in charge of letting the public know the denomination, year and I would suppose the condition would be most excellent, like ms 60ish or better! Cmon man, I need Q David Bowers to break down the varieties, give me some auction estimates....drool.

And for God sakes, please don't F up the capsule by adding 2015 clad and zincs .... no one wants to see that crap in another 200 years.

Here are some pictures of a few of the coins. Not very good pics though.

If that's them they are in pretty good shape for their age

Seems like the focus has been more on the event and the people involved than the actual contents of the time capsule.

When I was a kid time capsules could realy stir my imagination. They just don't seem to have the same effect anymore. As a kid I thought they would get opened in a thousand years when the world was totally different . They seem to get dug up, checked and reburied fairly regularly . The real time capsules are those undisturbed ancient archaeological sites that get discovered.

Just noticed I'm a senior member. When did that happen? I think I have been hanging around here to long.

Lets hope someone is watching and they don't decide to divvy up the coins among themselves!
We could include one of the pols in the time capsule!

Been there done that...left them in the fridge! Lol!
Wait till you become a goldbrick'er
