I'm trying to help someone identify these unique items. I have no clue what they are but I figured that if anyone could identify them, it would be someone from this site.

This individual has received several offers on them but wants to know exactly what it is that he has before making a deal.

Thanks in advance

What was your friend told they were?
Don...

He also has no clue but someone has offered him some pretty serious money for them. The guy refuses to let him know what he thinks they are so he's not parting with them. I don't blame him.

I would REALLY, REALLY like some of the experts on this site to have a look but I haven't been on here long enough to know who to ask.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If anyone knows who the best identifiers on this site are, please pass this along to them if at all possible.

If you want an honest guess, I'll tell you that I think these are iron fantasy sculpture pieces made in the last 10 years, with unusual characteristics and aging to suggest that their origin is mystical or other-worldly.

I was thinking maybe art myself but I sure don't know. I've never seen anything like them.

They are kind of fantasy art I suppose.

But they kind of look like they should go together as parts of a mystical or alien machine.

(and I think that's what the artist/maker was going for... and he/she was good at it)

An ancient puzzle?

Parts to the Antikythera Mechanism? - At first I did think mechanical parts, but the triangle thingy throws me off. Maybe it's unrelated?

I'm curious how he came upon the people offering him serious money for the items. That should provide some clue as to their identity. Can you offer any more info (even just context) other than pictures?

I really have no clue.

I'll give you $35,000. For them ... With no questions asked.

Well money bags.... :laughing7: How much for some beautiful rusty 1/2 horseshoes? Some even have the original dirt from final resting place. Others have been tastefully cleaned up. And some others have been put into electrolysis for a professional cleanup (these are out of your league). And you can ask all the damn questions you'd like (small fee required). Taking bids... NOW!!! :tongue3:

What's the metal content of these? I recognize a few items here.... Like the 20th picture down are two lead hem weights melted together.
A few pieces look (if they're lead) like a "whizzler" which are colonial game pieces that you put cordage through the holes and it spins.
If the object in the first picture is iron, then I have found a few of those before.
So, there's nothing else you can add about the significance of these finds? Where did they come from?
This is a strange post! :tongue3:
Cheers,
Dave.

This probably belongs in the "What Is It?" section of the forum. People flock to that area just looking to solve ID questions. Maybe the mods can move this thread, or maybe you could repost in that area.

The guy says they're not lead based on the fact that lead isn't magnetic. These items are.

I'm pretty sure he means that a magnet will stick to these items.

My knowledge and information is very limited. This is why I posted them here.

I actually posted it in that category as well.

No thank you. I just need those parts shown so I can rebuild my time machine and return to my original time.

I'VE SAID TO MUCH!

Hay, when you seek info. You should give description such as material and size. This gets you a more precise reply. You should also # pictures.
Now The top ones look like the base mounting plates on railings. The two attached together at 90 degrees look like hem or shower curtain weights. Some look like spur "wheels". One with the vertical dowels looks like part of a safe combination lock inner workings. Those are my best guesses based on the input. Frank...-five star.png
