So what kind of MD did your buddy loan you? If you liked it start there.

I've used the Ace 250/350 plenty, and played with some Bounty Hunters, you don't want either one. I own a Coinmaster Pro, you don't want of them either.

Just get the Tesoro Compadre!
It's only $180 bucks and runs circles around all other detectors at twice it's price.

There are a lot of choices depending on your price range. The Garrett Ace series or Fisher F2 are affordable units that are easy to use. Give me a call if I can help you narrow down your choices.

I have a garrett ace 250 & I just love it,cost me about $220 with tax & shipping.

Fisher F2 $ 199.00!

All the detectors mentioned have their pluses (and minuses). IMHO the Tesoro Compadre is the best bang for the buck.

OK so who is the best to deal with ?? don't want to throw $$ away ..to hard to get ...Thanks

Either tesoro silver umax or compandre and you will not be disappointed!

Ace 250 has served me well, as a consumer detector that is. It is very easy to use. The 'tone' gets a little annoying after awhile though. The other thing, though not a huge problem, the volume dial(built into the headphone cord) is very touchy, so I have to set it while I am swinging over a coin or something, because if you just turn it all the way down and think you're going to move the dial up a tick, the next signal you hit is going to blast your eardrums out. I have been meaning to set it and apoxy it in place. Other than that, it is a great coin hound, maybe not so much for depth but good enough if taken to viable places. Come to think of it, the only detector of three that I have that has found silver, is the Ace 250.
