Hi,

I was able to get a used 350 - Supposedly used 5 times.
When I received it and did a test it seems to be oversensitive.
The curser keeps bouncing around.
I did a table test this morning and lowered the sensitivity power as needed and sensing and discrimination seemed ok
In the lawn I needed to lower the setting two bars to get it to stabilize.

Normal?

Need to determine if the thing is broke

Sounds ok to me I used one and depending on where you are at that is normal.

They are extremely sensitive. Inside our shop, we have to turn them down to 2-3 bars and keep them away from Fluorescent lights. Take it outside and you will be fine!

2 bars below top is the default the for ace350.
In most cases you will hunt on 5-6 bars in the woods, 3-4 bars in dry sand, 2-3 bars on wet sand.
Just Don't afraid to drop the sens down.

What I learned here in Pa, I need to drop the sensitivity to around 2-3 bars. Sometimes depending where I am, I can up it more.

Thanks Guys! You relieved my fear it had a defect!

I went out to a park this morning for a short test and it worked at standard default settings:thumbsup:

Found and dug up a 1985 penny this evening in the front yard but interrupted by rain. Thanks again for the info

The ACE350 is a money maker machine if you are not lazy to digg everything.
Don't even thing to say "ah another pulltap" because you will miss the gold ring.
For me it pay its self and the ATP upgrade within 3 months.

Enjoy the machine and don't be so hurry to upgrade.

If your aim is to dig everything it would not make any difference which detector you bought. Except maybe a couple inches in depth.

For a newbbe like my self and the friend Hookedondetecting the aim must be to digg all targets until we have the conficence that we have become one with the machine.

I agree. I am going to stick it out with what I have. One concentric coil - Compadre and one Double D coil 350
I think with these I have everything covered and I can get out with friends and have two running.
Next week we are going to Northern Michigan Copper Country and we are going to hunt the old deserted mining ghost towns.

so lucky people! In my country only beach hunting is allowed.
