THE best Equinox shaft bar NONE!!

Don't know if i need it but like the idea. The clamp system looks good. need a spec sheet to see what they are made of, have to watch it later. (can't listen to English speakers this early, sorry U.K.people:p:D like having a bad hangover ). Exchange rate is falling right now so $156.66 and dropping.

welp I just pulled the trigger on this one....

Thanks for the demonstration. Looks like a great idea. I think I’ll wait till some others try it in different situations first. I would like to see it in action in the water as I’m usually at the beach. Looks promising. Thanks again and good luck.

Received my TELE-KNOX the other day from one of the dealers here in the U.S. which is importing (not sure I'm allowed to mention the name) anyway it is everything I had hoped for. I can't say there is a weight savings, but I will say it isn't any greater than the stock shaft. I got mine in the RED/BLK carbon fiber, everything is included to easily convert your stock machine onto the collapsible shaft. Extremely well made, no wobble..........and hers the Kicker...........my machine collapses to 22 - 23 inches in length !! Thank you Detecting Innovations...........now if you could work on a Quick Disconnect for the control unit on the shaft !!

CCdirtdigger, i thought some company had a folding mount for the control head. What are the locking levers made of and are they a good design? Dont think it would be a good choice for a dedicated water hunter. Sand between carbon can't be good. Will be great for storage, travel, getting thru the brush at remote sites.

Nice piece of engineering! :icon_thumleft:

Until Minelab changes the handle design the shafts are all the same.

GeoW -- unless you purchase a counterbalanced shaft... ;)

Steve

Bought one, sent it back. Great concept though.

Why did you send it back rc?

The latches seem to be a hardened nylon, the design seems solid, to unlock move 90 degrees tot he shaft and it unlocks, fold back against the shaft and it is locked. Used mine in the water yesterday for the first time, I'll certainly disassemble, rinse and wipe down with Armor ALL......but otherwise no problem. The TELE-Knox shaft makes this an absolute TAKE ANYWHERE detector IMHO. I can also see where a 2nd lower shaft that you can have another coil mounted to would be helpful.

I recently purchased this shaft for backpack and flight travel use.

Mostly agree it is take anywhere with perhaps the exception of intense water/beach hunting where there are too many parts and grooves that will get worn down by the salt and sand ingress regardless of how thoroughly you rinse it off. Telescopics are just not suitable for that situation no matter how well designed, and this is a well designed shaft including the cam locks. I like the fully linearly adjustable control pod mount. The only thing missing is ability to have multiple lower shafts ready for coil swaps and the ability to shift the control pod angle position but that is pretty much locked in due to ML's handle design.

For beach work and general usage where telescopics are not required, I like Steve's Detector Rods (TNET Sponsor) design which can also accommodate a balance counterweight, if desired.

I am also going to test another telescoping rod design (Zlobrik) for Equinox and bake it off against the subject telescoping rod.

I will report back once I have them assembled and have taken them out for some testing.
