Nice fix but I think for the price we pay XP needs to make good on these, I would send an email to XP with your fix and ask that they make good by sending another pair with a return shipping label so you can send them yours.....

I never had that problem with my WS5's but I traded them for a set of backphones. I don't really like full headphones especially in the summer. I use the Killer Bee Rattlers with my wired rig. I'll probably look into a set that work with the WS4 controller this fall. Good Luck on getting yours fixed, for the price they should be top quality for sure.

ggossage, did you get a reply from XP about the headset issue?

Yes, they were very amicable and sent me the Grey Ghost/WS-4 combo in exchange. Now keep in mind, that's a financial loss, but I didn't want WS5s falling apart on me. I also got to hang on to the the WS5s until the Grey Ghost/WS-4 arrived before shipping the WS5s back. If asked, I couldn't tell you what the sound difference is between the two--it's been too long and it was within the first two weeks of owning the Deus.

Thanks for the follow-up. I've pretty much learned to handle the cups by the yokes and not by the padding, but they do still come off, and that means about 5 minutes lost to fussing around with that when I could be detecting. And I'm not sure how many times I will be able to put them back on before they stretch or tear from repeated attempts.

Das geht gar uberhaubt nicht! Call XP and have them make it right. Good luck Buzz.
