I went to one of my favorite banks this week to pick up an order of halves. The teller (now my VERY FAVORITE teller) said that in addition to my boxes, she had some rolls for me, and did I want them. As any CRH'er worth their salt would do, I eagerly said yes. She sold me $213.00 additional, twenty-one rolls and six loose coins. I stuffed them into my pockets and loaded the boxes in my truck. I hadn't driven very far before curiosity got the best of me, especially since the wrappers looked to be fairly antique. I grabbed a roll at random, opened an end and poured twenty 90% Kennedys into my hand! This was a first for me, as up to that date, I had never found a full roll of silver. I immediately called my wife and relayed the news. I told her that I was afraid to open another roll because I was afraid that it would NOT be silver. She said to go ahead and open another one, and I commenced to pour a full roll of Walkers and Franklins into my hand! When I told her that, she made me promise to stop opening them and bring them on home so she could share in the excitement. I raced home and we slowly opened the rest of the rolls, savoring each happy moment of discovery. Roll after roll was 100% silver keepers! I made the comment that "This is almost as good as sex!!", and she did not disagree (which makes me suspect that maybe I should be spending LESS time CRH'ing). By the time the smoke had cleared, all 21 rolls were silver. There were 5 Walker's, 35 Franklin's, 325 90% Kennedy's (most of which were in pristine condition!), and 56 40%ers. Yes, there was even an extra coin in one of the 21 rolls! 421 keepers!! 129.66 ounces of silver, all in one relatively small transaction.
This was the biggest hit I have had in three years of CRHing. Needless to say, today I am taking a big bag of goodies to the branch for "putting up with me".
