today I continued . In the fall 2012 I polished the axe head. Today was a little free time and I made the handle for an axe. The handle I made of a shovel shank. I processed it a knife what to give a type of handwork. That the handle would be similar to the original, it is necessary to make it old. It becomes by means of a metal brush, a sandpaper and a dark varnish.

..to be continued :)

tonight (we have in the country an evening: ) I did a handle for an axe and I varnished it for wood. Then of an old soldier's belt I made a leather thong and handle bandage.

Today day off and I had time to finish work on restoration of axes. I made for the second axe the handle and I processed a textural varnish.
For each axe wedges were made: metal and tree. Probably I will make a special panel. On it I will fix axes.

You have certainly brought new life to those axes. BRAVO! What is the story behind them? Found metal detecting, or????

Thanks for attention to my photos!
These axes are found by means of the metaldetector, on places of the former settlements. it is possible to look at the description of axes and other my finds here
Technology simple: with sandpaper I delete a rust, and with a metal electrobrush I polish metal. The tree is processed by a knife and as it is processed by a metal brush. Then it is covered with a textural varnish.
