The First Texas coil situation...a guide of sorts....

Yes. Your Omega and Delta coils are interchangeable. Dave Johnson explained the Fratbros process and coil interchanges before, though some on other forums.

Medium performance "entry level": most folks would rate the more recent Euroteks as offering more value for the money than the Delta. Might also look into Fisher F22 and the new Bounty Hunters that look kind of like the Delta and Eurotek. All these share somewhat similar circuitry, and differ primarily in feature set and what searchcoil they come with stock standard.

The discrimination software algorithms used in these machines is fairly similar to that used on our high performance machines, and customers familiar with metal detectors often remark that on targets less than 8 inches or so deep these machines deliver performance comparable to machines costing several times as much. Of course the more expensive machines still have their place for searching in locations where it's okay to dig with a shovel, and in gold prospecting which the under-$400 machines aren't much use for.

And......

The "legacy" searchcoils (corresponding roughly to the muffler-on-a-stick BH & Discovery models) are not compatible with the newer BH's which are in the same family as most of the low to midrange Teknetics and Fisher models. You do however have to make sure you're getting the correct connector.

Thanks; that's good to know. I assumed they were but I wanted to make sure.

I'm definitely gonna' try the 10" on the Delta just to see what kind of difference it makes. If it's substantial and I upgrade the Omega coil to the 11" DD I may just leave the 10" on the Delta. I'll have to play around with them and see how they all function.

Just 'cause I have a new machine on the way doesn't mean I love the Delta any less....

I see that the interest has gone away but I will say that the LRP with a 10 inch elliptical rather that the stock coil is far better. The change is very much like the smaller coil everyone uses on the ATP. I am pleased with the change.

It's really a matter of preference. I sometimes take the 10" elliptical that comes stock on the Quick Draw Pro and switch it with the LRPs 11". Not a lot to brag about either way as far as depth, ID, recovery and pinpointing. One of the vendors here sells the LRP at $299, what seems like a "fair" price. But look again and it comes with an 8" concentric round. Add $104 for a 11" DD. Sneaky. The LRP is packaged with the 11" DD from the manufacturer, and that's what all others sell. I don't like that. New users may come to these forums and read enough about the LRP to buy one. And if not knowledgeable, will buy from this vendor expecting a LRP and will get a chopped LRP that may not live up to the manufacturers intent.

But that's just my observation.

Another reason to always shop around before buying. There are many unscrupulous characters out there.

So does that same vendor sell the 11" DD coil for the LRP as an "upgrade"??
If so it's definitely a sneaky way to double dip.

I can't say it's dishonest. They ARE giving you a choice. But it's just sneaky. All other competition is selling the 11" DD package, and many at a lower than $299 price.

Nothing wrong with displaying their ad though:

Note: As mentioned a few posts above, this is not a TNet vendor as I thought it was. No reflection on metaldetectors.com, who is a TNet vendor, is intended. My apologies for the confusion.

I see them priced between $299.95 thru $404.10 with the DD coil.

Nope, nothing wrong with that at all.

I would definitely agree it's a bit sneaky. The upside is, with the internet it's incredibly easy for anyone to shop around. OTOH, they must be selling them or the offer wouldn't still exist.

I guess the old adage still applies; "let the buyer beware".

Hi, do you have the sequence for the wiring for F44? RX, TX?
