6 Hours in the Rain Hunting Old Rip Currents LOTS OF GOLD!

Nick, that is quite a video! Sophisticated and intriguing! :wav:

You even got King Midas to do a cameo appearance; also, great choice on the music!
:hello2:
I love those gold and silver treasure finds! Mega congratulations on a fine , intelligent, well thought out hunt.:icon_thumleft:

That is a great video and that lightning strike reminds a person to get off the beach when it pops like that. Thanks for sharing.

Please tell us you didn't go out on the beach with a metal rod in your hands during the thunderstorm!

Lots of rain & wind but no lightning.

Thanks everyone!

Great Video!!! Does anyone know how often Google Earth/Maps updates it's database? If i research a site today how old is the photo in Google?

The photo of the Rip in the video was taken 06/10/11. I've noticed that some areas are taken every few months while others are taken yearly.

Once you pull up the image you want, go up to "view" and click "historical Imagery".....a time bar will appear in the upper left of the screen. You can use this time bar to run from the most current image (extreme right of bar) or you can bring up older images by moving the bar tab to the left. It's a neat feature because you can see how your beaches changes over time. Quite often you will find rips where there was once just flat beach, etc. Offshore anomalies can also be viewed sometimes.

PS: As you select each image it will tell you when that image was provided.

Hey a guy named Midas found the same stuff on his first ever metal detecting hunt. What a coincidence.
