Being a solid coupe and good glass will help,(hows floor pans and trunk floor?) Maybe a 194 engine, fun project.

Pictures aren't showing up for me darn it! Speaking of autos, what's the story on the old dodge pickup sitting behind the iron fence on the road up to town?

howdy Jerome...the guy across the street{down the hill} owns that...hasn't been driven in years... it is a panel truck...'59 I think...perhaps a '60... been inside that hole in the wall since at least 1985...they put up the fence some years later.

OK. So now what's the hole? Was that an entrance to a mine or a ?

it may have been a powder stash...or just a garage...I went in there several times before the truck an fence, and it is a large dead end...goes back in the mountain just far enough for a truck to be parked there.

those miners were just digging fools...there are houses with tunnels in the back room...most are just storage, some are connected to the underground network.

I've always wonder and wanted to check it out but there's no place close to park. Thought about walking down but with the narrow road and the crazy drivers I'd probably just get ran over.

correct on all accounts...
Jerome was always odd. but now it is just insane...so many angry, frustrated, mean people, willing to kill you if they can call it an accident.

let me tell this story.
I rebuild knives...along with cars, motorcycles, jewelry...I tinker...more for therapy then money making.
some local introduces me to a guy, his family is 4 or 5 generations in Jerome...I rebuild a knife for him...he hands me a Chinese pos switchblade, I had him an ivory handled german blade...he is supposed to give me a basketcase triumph motorcycle...I trust him...hey, everyone loves him an swears he is honest...{should have known}
over a year an a half later, no motorcycle, no excuses, I find him in the local park..."hey when you gonna pay me?" he says, pay you, you gave me the knife cause I am nice.
I swear...I may be a strange little man, but I am honest and here it comes...
yesterday, someone in Jerome, some teenybopper, sends me over 14 texts an phone calls about how wicked I am to demand this guy pay up.
then the owner of Jerome tattoo, where this guy works...send me emails threatening me....over some guy twice my size and half my age stealing from me.
yea...Jerome has changed...the "locals now believe they walk on water, and can threaten, steal and defame one with impunity.

(sorry for the rant Jerome) everyone in Arizona should understand what is happening in that beautiful old mining community

That's ridiculous! People are getting worse and worse. Not like it use to be. Makes me want to move out in the middle of nowhere. Maybe I should move to Clifton, its pretty dead.

I used to love Clifton...spent much time along those mountains.
do I have stories about ft Thomas...
I think this meth epidemic is the cause of many of our modern issues.
