Oh very sweet, how far back does this picnic grove date?

I'm guessing 1880's is when it started, I haven't found anything older than a barber as far as I know because the copper coins are so ate up you can't even start to see a date or what kind of copper it is really. Thanks and HH

Wingmaster - looks like you've found the spot. Congrats!
Love those Standing Liberty Quarters.
I think I've only found three in 35 yrs of MD'ing.

LOVE SLQs Looks like you will be having fun for a while!

Do you know when the grove was last used? Those are awesome to see. Very exciting.

I don't know when it was last used but my in laws remembered it, they think people might have gone there until the early 70's maybe. I did find a couple clad but haven't checked the date, all most everything was silver or badly ate up coppers. HH

pretty nice finds. Looks like you have found it.

Was this picnic area in or outside of a town?

I wish it was close to town as there would have been more people there, it's pretty rural I'm guessing an after church meeting spot. Hopefully it will produce for a while though. HH

Very nice Wingmaster. Crusty coins are good but a handful of silver makes it all the worthwhile. Congrats.
