My Dad's favorite uncle lived outside VanBuren on a farm. We went to visit once and ate dinner outside using a barn door laid across two saw horses as a table and tree stumps for chairs. That was back in the 1950s. We had to interrupt dinner to get a strutting tom turkey out from under the table! Never will forget that. I was 5 years old. Monty
Bob Burns was a radio comedian back in the 30's and 40's. He played a homemade musical instrument called a bazooka— for which the weapon was named. He made a few movies, too. They even had a world premier for one of them in Van Buren, and our local "picture show" palace was called the Bob Burns Theater.
