Locsl parks are fine unless posted. Water company property is off limits unless that has changed recently.

There is also a few towns that dont permit metal detecting i forget which ones. You can find them on the web

I / gf was verbally chased out of a ball park 4 July 2016 0800. Park employee just so happened to drive by and threaten to take picture of plate and call the police. Now I could have stayed and waited for police but chose to humbly apologize, evidently there was no specific ordinance and he knew too (correct /look for signs). He also stated someone dug up sprinkler heads metal detecting.

State parks are legal here but again low profile. Historical sites (NO/ NO). Cemeteries are off limits too/ private property.

If you dive like I do off a side of a boat, swim areas, the boat anchored and NOT in buoyed swim areas.

I see that the city of Norwich is off limits. Can anyone tell me if Mohegan Park is off limits.

Mohegan is off limits. I attempted to go last summer and a sign was posted.

State parks are off limits, except on beaches. Check with the local police in towns and cities where you want to detect. Good hunting and good luck.
